The register

Verify a certificate.

Every certificate issued by Inheriting Qur'an carries a number. If you have been handed one — as an imam, an employer, or a parent — this is where you check that we actually issued it.

Issued to date

None yet, and that is the honest answer.

No certificates have been issued. The first cohorts are still forming, so nobody has finished a stage yet and the register below is genuinely empty.

If someone has shown you a certificate from Inheriting Qur'an today, it is not one of ours. Please write and tell us — we would rather know.

How the number works

What is published, and what is not.

A certificate is only worth something if it can be checked. It is only decent if checking it does not turn our students into a public list.

The number

What it looks like

Printed at the bottom right of every certificate, in the form IQ-Q-1448-014 — the house, the stage (Q, T or Ḥ), the Hijri year, and the number within that year.

The register

What it will show

The number, which stage it certifies, and the month it was issued. Enough to confirm a certificate in your hand is real.

Never

What it will not show

No student names. A number that is not listed was not issued by us; a number that is listed can be matched against the name on the paper you are holding. That is enough, and a public directory of who could not read is not.

A certificate is not an ijāzah

Every one says so on its face. These certify what a student demonstrated to a teacher — read unseen text, applied tajwīd through a juz, recited it from memory. None of them confers a licence to transmit, and none of them should ever be presented as one.

If a number does not check out

Write to hamza@inheritingislam.com with the number and we will tell you plainly. If somebody has put their own name on our work, we want to know before you do.
